Happy New Year, Nexus friends! Last newsletter was about what you told us in the survey. Well, today, we’re excited to unveil our plans for 2026 with that feedback top of mind. Thank you for all of your ideas and please keep them coming. We always want to know what else we can do to support this community.

2026 Plans for Nexus Maine

Our goal is to cover the majority of the gaps you all highlighted to us. If we had to summarize your feedback in two words it would be “thoughtful curation.” We know Slack can get overwhelming and we know that in general, people want more visibility into the value this community has within it. That means highlighting resources (and making more), mentors, funding opportunities and overall entrepreneurial support.

We also wanted to return to what people loved about this group at the beginning, informal offline opportunities!

For 2026 our plan is to add a dash of curated purpose to what’s already working while sprinkling in a few new ideas. Here’s what we are cooking up for 2026!

1. Nexus Podcast 🎤

   1. Launching late Q1

2. Nexus Perk Bundles

   1. We’re still working out what this will look like, but if you know a business that would be a great collaborating partner with the Nexus Community (co-working spaces, coffee shops, professional services… reach out to us!)

3. Events

   1. 4 Flagship Ecosystem Events partnering with local partners in the Maine ecosystem.

   2. Monthly informal meetups return! But with a touch of curation… events will take the format of coffee/ happy hours/curated dinners and organized around a specific topic or interest

4. Slack channel curation to improve usability (ex: weekly Roundup posted in general)

5. Added help from “community managers” to help support the group

   1. If you want to help plan informal Nexus events, please reach out!

6. Digital Education - Webinar + Write-ups on topics relevant to builders and the Nexus community.
